To give you an idea of how our website design service works and the processes involved in developing your website, here's a run-down:
The Initial Consultation
These consultations are completely free and without obligation. We are here
to answer any questions you may have, and find out what kind of
website design you are planning or considering. We will spend
time gathering information usually by asking you to complete
a questionnaire.
We are happy to do this consultation face-to-face or by email or telephone. If you wish you can download a copy of our questionnaire here as a Word document and email it to us.
Estimate/Agreement
Using the questionnaire as a basis, we
will send you a proposal for the project, which includes
details of features of the website design, how it will be set up and a timescale
of deadlines and completion. This estimated price will be based on
an estimated number of hours needed to complete the website. If you are satisfied
with the proposal for the project, we will ask you to sign an agreement
with us and there will be a deposit payable at this time.
Content Gathering
Text and graphic content must be gathered before major work can begin on the
site. We can prepare a checklist for the client to assist
him in pulling together the text, logo, graphics, and photographs needed
for the website design. The deadlines for receiving this information are
included in the proposal timescale.
Web Page Design
When website content starts to be delivered, page layout and visual design
begins. The website's Home Page is designed first. We will
produce a number of different ideas and will upload them to a private location
on the Internet where you can view them. Using your feedback
on these ideas a final layout will be reached and the look and feel of the
site will be set.
Work will continue, creating the remainder of the site, adding content when delivered and as sections of the site are created, they will be uploaded to the testing area. Your feedback is very important to us and will be sought at various stages of this process.
Final Site Testing
The site is thoroughly tested to ensure the pages are correct on numerous browsers,
on different platforms, and at different browser window sizes and resolution
settings.
Site Launch
The site is uploaded to its own domain and is now "live".
Search Engine Submission
The site will be submitted to the free major search engines. We can offer further search
engine positioning services.
Statistics
Fully comprehensive statistics are available for every website we host. These
can be emailed at regular intervals to the client, or the client may have
access
to the statistics themselves. The statistics include number of visitors to
the site, where these visitors come from, how long they spend on the site
and how people are finding the site.
